Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, is a private, four-year liberal arts institute affiliated by the Ivy League. Dartmouth College, located in Hanover, is a brilliant undergraduate residential college with the intellectual character of a university offering a highly personal learning environment for students and faculty. Dartmouth’s main campus spreads over 269 acres including a central green with academic buildings clustered on three sides.
The various undergraduate and graduate schools working under Dartmouth University such as Arts and Sciences, Dartmouth Medical School, Thayer School of Engineering, and Tuck School of Business and 29 departments of undergraduate college. The university curriculum includes research, undergraduate, graduate and professional programs in different disciplines such as A.B., B.E., A.M., M.A. L.S., M.B.A., M.E., M.S., Ph.D., M.D., and various combined degrees. The University has 4,100 undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students.
The undergraduate Art and Science comprises of 39 academic departments and programs including economics, government, psychological and brain science, history etc. whereas the graduate program has 19 programs including biochemistry, biological science, chemistry, computer science, earth science, engineering, genetics, etc. There is a continuous growth of research activities in all the fields and Dartmouth also offers its students the opportunities for internships and study abroad, and to work directly with faculty in various research projects.
To get admission in Dartmouth College, the candidate needs to fill in the Dartmouth’s Common Application form along with the supplements i.e. the Pre-application and Peer Evaluation. For Transfer Admission, the candidate needs to fill in the online Common Application form and also need to submit Personal Data/Statements and Transfer Supplement online. Each application is reviewed by 2-3 members of the admission staff. The potential candidate needs to have qualities such as passion for ideas, dedication for learning, leadership, compassion, integrity, motivation, and sense of humor etc. Dartmouth also offers a comprehensive need-based financial aid program and approximately 40% of each entering class receive this financial aid.
